SPECIAL CALLED ASSEMBLY
Dear DenPres Community,
Denver Presbytery voted and affirmed that Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging was the primary focus for Assemblies for 2024. The Visionary Leadership Commission affirmed that we would be concentrate on the focus of Matthew 25 of Dismantling Structural Racism. As we embrace the intention of strengthening our relationships and deepening our conversations on race and racism, the Visionary Leadership Commission believes the essential business of the presbytery is to create a fundamental baseline for healthy dialogue. With this called assembly, we will begin the uncovery, recovery, and discovery process through the professional facilitation of Shade Trees. Participation will fulfill the General Assembly newly, required anti-racism training for every Minister of Word and Sacrament.

Shade Trees: An Ecosystemic Approach to Race in America: -Denver Presbytery invitation to dialogue around race.
This is an interactive and theory-based workshop that sets a baseline for dialogue on race and racism. The workshop divided into three sessions that: 1.) Engage in uncovery of hidden and repressed narratives about race and racism, 2.) Provide recovery strategies to dislodge racial trauma in the body and broader society, and 3.) Unlock the imagination for the discovery of anti-racist strategies to live differently in a world ridden by racism.

PARKING
Wellshire Presbyterian Church is located at 2999 South Colorado Blvd. in Denver, Colorado. We are on the West side of Colorado Boulevard, between Yale and Dartmouth.
Parking at Wellshire can be challenging. We have three parking lots on the east, west, and north sides of our church. You are also welcome to park on the residential streets to the west of the church, but please be kind to our neighbors and avoid parking in front of any driveways. Handicap-accessible parking spaces are available in each of our parking lots. Click here for map.
HOTEL REIMBURSEMENT AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST
For our participants that are required to attend this training and live more than 50 miles away, we are offering reimbursements to stay at a hotel Friday night. Please contact Dee or Beth to make arrangements.
