By participating, you'll gain valuable insights, practical skills, and access to resources that will help you enhance the safety and security of your places of worship from experts across the spectrum of emergency management (Protection, Prevention, Mitigation, Response and Recovery).

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
1. Emergency Drills and Preparedness: Learn how to conduct and practice effective emergency response procedures tailored to places of worship.
2. Policies and Procedures: Understand the importance of establishing robust safety policies and procedures, including access control, communication plans, and more.
3. Building a Safety Team: Learn how to form and train a dedicated safety team within your congregation.
4. Facility Hardening Techniques: Gain insights into best practices for securing your facility, including surveillance, access control systems, and other safety and security measures.
5. Grant Applications: Learn how to navigate the grant application process and discover available funding opportunities to support your safety initiatives.
6. Resources and Networking: Identify valuable resources and connect with experts who can provide ongoing support and guidance.
MEET OUR FACILITATORS
Our workshop will feature experienced speakers who have presented this and other programs and responded to events across the country.
Ron Bottrell is a retired Crisis Management Consultant who has served on PDA's National Response Team since 2010.
Rev. Suzanne Malloy served as a law enforcement officer for 31 years; during her final year as a patrol sergeant, she was responsible for coordinating perimeter security during a multi-fatality postal shooting. She served 19 years as a trauma chaplain and is a 14-year member of the National Response Team of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. She has responded nationwide to both natural and human-caused disasters.
Mark Williams served in the security and safety consulting industry for over 30 years. He served as board chairman for The Partner Alliance for Safer Schools, a national nonprofit providing safety and security roadmaps for the K12 environment. He also serves on the technical committee for NFPA 3000 Standard for Active Shooter/Hostile Events as well as the Advisory Committee for the National Association of School and Campus Police Chiefs. He has successfully applied for and received grants for $150,000 for Central Presbyterian Church and and chairs their Safety Team.
